NSFC-European Commission Talent Programme

The European Commission and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) signed a bilateral cooperation agreement to co-fund China-EU Talent Programme in 2017 that will foster intenational talent cooperation. The goal of NSFC European CommissionTalent programme aims to support Chinese researchers that have already obtained the funding from ERC, and will support the research visits for 6 to 12 months. The funding for Chinese side should not exceed 30,000 RMB for each project.

NSFC-DFG Joint Research Programme

According to the bilateral cooperation agreement from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), both sides will co-fund Sino-German cooperation research programme to facilitate the exchange of the researchers. The funding for Chinese partners should not exceed 2 million RMB for each project.

MoST – Strategic International Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation Key Programme

The Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has published the 2016 Strategic International Cooperation in Science and Technology Innovation Key Programme under the Key National Development Plan. According to the central government science and technology program (special, funds) management reform scheme, it aims to make the combination of all key programmes and to form the implementation plan for each programme. Now, the application guide of key programme has been released.

NSFC-ISF Joint Research Programme

According to a memorandum of cooperation between National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Israel Science Foundation (ISF), both sides will jointly fund research projects and support of the both countries to conduct substantive innovative research and cooperation. The key supported fields cover Mathematic, Physic, Chemical, Global Science, Nano Technology and Computer Science.

Programme Xu Guangqi 2017

The goal of the Xu Guangqi programme is to develop collaborations between Chinese and French researchers working in laboratories affiliated to universities, research organisations or companies of both countries by supporting them in their initial phase of launching and development. Mobility of young researchers within the collaborations is particularly appreciated. All disciplinary fields are eligible, including Human and Social Sciences.

NSFC-RSE Joint Research Programme

NSFC has signed the cooperation agreement with RSE in order to promote collaborative research programme among the scientists. A grant is provided to researchers to cover travel, subsistence, and research expenses. The collaboration should be based on a single project, with two teams or individuals based in Scotland and China. A relationship must have already been established between the Scotland-based and China-based researchers.

General Research Fund (GRF)

The RGC's main objective is to fund as many worthy projects as possible across a broad front within the funds available. Nevertheless, projects of exceptional merit will be funded more fully than other projects. Applications for research project grants are assessed by the relevant subject panel assisted by a number of external experts from all over the world. The RGC currently has a database of more than 16,000 experts whose services may be called upon to assess applications for research project grants.

Guangdong / Hong Kong Technology Cooperation Funding Scheme

To strengthen technology development between Hong Kong and Guangdong, the governments of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Guangdong Province jointly set up the Guangdong-Hong Kong Technology Cooperation Funding Scheme (TCFS) in 2004 as a key cooperation initiative to encourage collaboration among universities, research institutes and technology enterprises in the two places.
