Policy brief as guiding document for Research and Technology Organisations to engage in the process of internationalisation

Internationalisation enables Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) to access new knowledge and high level partners. For them, the internationalisation process is a crucial way of strengthening their role in linking their national or regional innovation system with cross-border knowledge pools.

Effective internationalisation requires sustained investments and efforts as well as administrative adjustments.

This report builds both on insights from the academic literature and practical experiences of RTOs. The main empirical input for this report stems from a joint workshop organised by the JRC and EARTO on 21 June 2016.
