On November 12-15th, Dr. XING Jijun, Deputy Director General of China Science and Technology Exchange Center (CSTEC) headed a delegation to the 2013 China (Dongguan) International S&T Cooperation Week in Dongguan, an event co-sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MoST) and People’s Government of Guangdong Province. Vice Minister Cao Jianlin and Vice Governor Chen Yunxian addressed the opening ceremony. Jointly with Dongguan Bureau of Science and Technology, CSTEC organized the China-EU Cooperation and Innovation Forum, the China-EU Photoelectric Technology Integration, and other sub-events as part of the S&T Cooperation Week.
The H2020 infoday was organized by CECO/CSTEC, and gathered over 260 attendants. Dr. Xing highlighted EU, the EU member states and other European countries as important S&T cooperation partners of China. Besides the information on H2020, during the infoday, EU S&T diplomats, experts and scholars from Sweden, Norway, Finland, UK, France and Germany shared domestic and institutional innovation policies and expressed strong interest in a closer S&T relationship with China.
It should be also noted, that on Nov. 13th, CSTEC organized the China-EU Photoelectric Technology Integration, where an eight-Dutch-LED-enterprise delegation met with over 20 Chinese counterparts and experienced warm discussion and successful matchmaking. The Dutch delegation also visited Dongguan Quality Supervision and Testing Center, Kingsun Optoelectronic Co., Ltd., and Sino Nitride Semiconductor Co., Ltd., exchanged LED know-how and experience and showed deep interest for cooperation.
